Course 1 of Int. Spring Hockey Academy

First course is over

EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy (Beta) was successfully launched during week 42 of 2018.

Sport rezort ALTIS in Slovakian town Námestovo hosted 5 players (Group 1), 4 members of EHA staff and couple of parents in period from October 15th to 20th 2018, the first of approx. 10 Courses of International Spring Hockey Academy (Beta) planned for season / school year 2018-19.

Now opened for all countries

Main point of EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy is combination of ice hockey development on highest level with overall development and school. As the project is in its Beta, development phase, students for Group 1 was especially chosen among EHA members in Denmark, because the dialog with schools and educational institutions over there is at most advanced stage as of now.

However, one student (now approved for the program) in Group 1 came from Czech republic and fulfilled all requirements regarding his school curriculum. This is for time being  happening especially thanks to his school, which prepared the curriculum and study for period of Academy’s Course.

Based on experience from Course 1 of Group 1, we decided, that now members / students from all countries will be invited to participate on superstructure study within EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy.

Exercise and study

It is now well documented fact, that children, young students are much more receptive over curriculum if study combines with exercise and physical activity. This fact is basically main idea of EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy project.

Students are during each day of the Course spending approx. 3 hours by ice hockey practice which is delicately combined with study in great environment.

All study and communication within the Course takes place, as much as possible, in English and this alone positively affects and improves students’ communication in English. However, there is always present EHA staff member, who is able to communicate with students in their respective mother language.

Time for restitution and fun

As title says – there needs to be room for restitution and fun. Especially by young kids, ice hockey players practicing over the average level. We have outlined the necessity of added value in our previous posts as well as it is a solid part of EHA’s development program framework.

Relax in the pool after hard work
There has to be time to relax the muscles in the pool too…
Laser Game
…but also to “shoot” the coaches at laser game. 🙂

Part of the ‘Canadian Line’

Many readers probably wonder why do we keep talking about “Spring” Academy. It is autumn for god sake… And somehow this wonder is justified. However, EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy is integrated part of the “Canadian Line” of our development program and this line of the program culminates by participating on so called “Spring hockey” games and high level tournaments in cradle of hockey – Canada.

As of this post publishing, EHA has already confirmed spot on 2 ‘Elite AAA’ spring hockey tournaments in Toronto, ON, Canada.

Read more about Canadian Line 2019 here.

“Canadian Line” of the program will, of course, take Academy’s students to Sweden, where some of them can meet well known faces from last season but let us also reveal, that as a part of Canadian Line 2019 will students have a possibility to meet teams and play high quality games even in Saint Petersburg or Moscow as well. 🙂

For the time being are all events within EHA’s International Spring Hockey Academy organized by European Hockey Academy’s association based in Denmark.
