International TRIP A+ (Hockey Cup 2017, Brno)
24. August 2017, 07:30 - 27. August 2017, 18:00

Preparation Camp
EHA team started this Trip by one day long preparation camp on Thursday, August 24th on the very same ice where during following three days seven teams in Bantam category fought for best possible results.

Players of the EHA roster mostly knew each other and coaches have during the preparation camp focused on light excersises as well as on to get to know couple of new aspirants. All players has confirmed the expectations and this far youngest and smallest team were ready to fight on the upcoming tournament. Our tournament’s motto: “We may be the youngest, but we’re ready to fight” described the team very well.
Tournaments draws
Tournament’s draws found place in the evening of the same day and everything was set for play. Read more about EHA Team’s games bellow.

GAME 1: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. KAC Klagenfurt (21:1)
First, or warm up game that has been drawn for EHA team was against austrian team KAC Klagenfurt. Even young austrians faught well and tried to do everything they could, the game was very clearly under control of EHA boys. The result talks for its self.

GAME 2: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. Plzeň municipality Select (3:3)
The second game of the day – and definitely the very best game of the tournament for players, audience and everyone involved. Little EHA group of youngsters have met extremely skilled players and simply physically much bigger guys – the initial line-up on the blue line before the game looked really much like a father-son game. Big deal of bad luck as well as couple of questionable calls from referees prevented a sensation, where David would beat Goliath. Tight result with this opponent is with no doubts great success.
GAME 3: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. Austrian Select (17:0)
On the contrary to the previous game, the Austrian Select team matched EHA team when we talk players’ weight or hight. However, these were only parameters these two teams matched each other. In the game – EHA team overcame this opponent simply in everything, despite Austrians’ enormous effort.

GAME 4: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. HC Warrior Brno (9:1)
Highly motivated team, playing practically on the home ice, lined up against EHA in the second game of the second day. However, neither motivation or (nearly) home ice advantage helped and the game was directed by team of European Hockey Academy.
GAME 5: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. South Moravia Select (2:10)
Line-ups for this – in reality “the gold game” looked very much like the ones in GAME 2 agains Plzeň municipality Select. Opponent’s coaches chosen only to play their very best and biggest players – and this time it was too much for EHA youngsters. Opponent’s shots was too hard for EHA’s 2005 goalie – so primary task for the team was not to allow the giants to shoot at all. And when we look back, we can say, that boys was fighting to last second of the game and gained great experience for their future development.
GAME 6: European Hockey Academy ’05 vs. HC Ružomberok (11:1)
Boys’ last game of the tournament. Placement was already known, nothing could change that. That is why their attitude and will to play was even more symphatic. Team EHA did not allow the opponent to do more-less nothing and won this game a big time.
The closure
At the end – the only thing there is left to say: this event was a fantastic experience for our young players. Preparation camp as well as perfect tournament – with quality of attending teams and its over all organisation.
May be a little ‘black spot’ worth to mention, was non-dignified and vulgar behavior of tournament’s sports director, mr. Kališ in presence of children. Behavior more worthy, may be, annoyed ice hockey coach on the bench during the game, or even better, an old drunk sailor. This was really surprising. And what was even more surprising is, that by the information we have from different sources, this very same person has got to do with children in more than one contexts in czech ice hockey! However – let us conclude in maritime terminology: That the ship’s captain is not a most intelligent or polite person does not mean, that ship its self is not beautiful.
