(H) Skill Categories & Ratings

Each player attending EHA’s development program is continuously evaluated and assigned EHA rating. As many other elements within EHA’s development program, also the ratings and ratings scales are as much as possible adopted from USA Hockey and adjusted to European conditions.

Evaluated parameters are different for Players and Goalies. Evaluated parameters as well as criteria are adjusted for different Skill categories and Age groups and generally follow guidelines of ‘Minor Hockey Development Guide’ of Hockey Canada. For girls, the criteria and requirements are adjusted to EHA Age group, which the player belongs to.

Achieved rating is always valid for max. 1 year of time, calculated from end date of the event where achieved. It is always the rating achieved at last attended event, which is valid for player.

New players, which has not yet attended any of EHA’s events are automatically assigned “Aspirant” category. This category are assigned also players, which has not attended any of the events within period of 1 year (while their rating is valid).

Skill category, or rating, can be a condition for attendance of different event types, or even single events. For more information about allowed skills categories for different types of events see: EHA Events.
